Palsuvai Vizhaa - Inaugural Function (2013-2014)

Kuwait Tamil Sangam popularly known as KTS conducted "Palsuvai Maalai", the Inaugural Function on 24-05-2013 at Kuwait Medical Association Hall, Jabriya. The program started at 5 P.M with the auspicious lighting of the lamp. 

 

Mrs.Hemalatha Rathinavelu invited the President of KTS, Mr.Palanikumar to deliver his welcome address to the members, the Chief Guest, President of Andaman Tamil Ilakkiya Mandram, Andaman Tamil Nenjan Mr.Krishnamurthy, Mr.Badava Gopi a well-known mimicry artist and the singers Mrs. Priyadarshini and Mr.MLR.Karthikeyan from India.

 

The audience exhilarated when Mr. Badava Gopi took over the stage and exhibited his mimicry talents.  The audience chortled and was at their highest moments of excitement.

 

KTS promotes, enlightens, and safeguards the richness of Tamil culture, especially the Tamil language among the younger members of the community. Noticeably Mr. Krishnamurthy spoke about "Ellai thandiya Thamizh" in which he mentioned how Tamil language extends beyond boundaries denoting about the famous Tamil poet Kambar. His speech was a delectable treat to the tamil lovers in the hall. 

 

Bridging to the excitement the stage decorations astound the audience. The introduction of the committee members for the year 2013-2014 was also held along with the felicitations at the second half of the program.

 

The melodic voices of Mr.MLR.Karthikeyan and Mrs. Priyadarshini added more essence to the wonderful evening. The hall was in pin drop silence when Mrs.Priyadarshini sang "pazham neeyappa". She endowed with a very high-pitched, crisp and weighty voice that could effortlessly traverse the octave of K B Sundarambal.

 

Mr.MLR.Karthikeyan handled the balance with a cool, enthusiastic and merrymaking manner. Both of them carried the music to the younger and elder group of the members. The kid’s spontaneous dance along with the artists enthralled the evening to become a perfect program which was named “palsuvai malaai”, meaning, a garland of variety or a variety evening.

 

Followed by such entertainment, dinner was served at 9:15 pm. On the whole it was a festivity evening for the cloud of audience.
